Valley Range – Treatment & Maintenance

Valley furniture is handcrafted in the UK from Scandinavian Redwood and supplied with a factory-applied Valley Brown oil-based timber treatment. The treatment uses penetrating oils, waxes and spirit-based carriers to protect and colour the timber.

This is an initial protective treatment rather than a permanent sealed coating. Valley products are not waterproof, mould-proof or maintenance-free.

Outdoor timber naturally weathers through exposure to rain, sunlight, moisture and local conditions. Customers should inspect the furniture regularly, clean it when required and re-treat it with a suitable compatible exterior timber oil or preservative. As a general guide, re-treatment should normally be carried out at least annually and more frequently in persistently wet, shaded or exposed locations.

Natural timber may develop colour variation, greying, surface mould or mildew, algae, raised grain, small splits, checking, resin movement, expansion or contraction during outdoor use. Surface weathering, mould, mildew, algae or discolouration arising after delivery through environmental exposure or insufficient ongoing maintenance is not, by itself, a manufacturing defect.

This does not affect your statutory rights where a product was defective when supplied.
